MPS utilizes 10 different analytical techniques ranging from sieve analysis to dynamic light scattering for measuring particle size distribution. In addition, MPS has both wet and dry sample dispersion methods at its disposal. The availability of a wide array of equipment allows MPS to select the most appropriate technique for the sample material and its size range.

Laser Light ScatteringSome MPS clients, because of the application for which the analysis is being performed, require that the measurement be of particle mass or volume distribution by particle size or particle count by particle size class. Additionally, quantification of particle shape characteristics also may be needed. MPS is equipped to satisfy your particle size and shape characterization needs.

Electrical Sensing Zone MethodParticle size analysis is a surprisingly complex subject and requires considerable knowledge and experience to select equipment appropriate for the sample material. For the great majority of analyses, properly dispersing the sample is the first step. To select the appropriate analytical technique, one must thoroughly understand how the instrument extracts size data and if the detection mechanism will be affected by some characteristic of the material other than size. Our knowledgeable staff is trained in the selection of the most appropriate method to assure that highly reliable measurements are produced.
